Kelsee White, LMFT, LCAS
Hello! My name is Kelsee, and I’m so glad you and your partner are here. Deciding to explore couples therapy can feel overwhelming, and I truly appreciate you taking this step. Whether this is your first experience with therapy or you’re looking for a new therapeutic home, I’m grateful you found our group and my page. My hope is to meet you exactly where you are and help you feel supported and at ease as you begin this journey together.
From a young age, I knew I wanted to help others, though I wasn’t quite sure what that would look like at first. Then I took an introductory psychology class in high school and everything clicked. And I’ve been passionate about this work ever since. I went on to major in psychology at Newberry College in South Carolina and later continued my training at Pfeiffer University here in Charlotte.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pfeiffer University (2012), as well as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist. Prior to private practice, I worked in a variety of collaborative care settings, including substance use treatment centers, family medicine practices, and Employee Assistance Programs (EAP). These experiences shaped my holistic approach to couples therapy and deepened my understanding of how mental health, physical health, and relationship dynamics are often closely connected.
I especially enjoy working with couples as they navigate the impact of addiction, including issues related to substance use, gambling, and other addictive challenges. I also have extensive experience supporting couples who are healing from betrayal — whether through infidelity or other breaches of trust that can disrupt safety and connection. My work focuses on helping partners better understand the patterns at play, rebuild trust, and move toward greater honesty, accountability, and emotional closeness.
I am a Gottman Certified Therapist, meaning I have completed rigorous, multi-level training and consultation in the Gottman Method — an evidence-based approach to couples therapy grounded in decades of research. This training allows me to help couples strengthen friendship, manage conflict more effectively, and create shared meaning using practical tools such as Love Maps, repair attempts, and turning toward bids for connection.
My approach is collaborative, structured, and compassionate. I strive to create a space where both partners feel heard, understood, and respected, while also offering clear guidance and practical tools to support meaningful and lasting change. I enjoy working with couples at all stages, whether you’ve been together for many years or are navigating the growing pains of an early relationship. I tailor our work to fit your unique needs, goals, and life circumstances.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two daughters. When we’re not working, you can usually find us at a softball field, dance studio, or gymnastics practice. In our downtime, my husband and I love listening to live music, diving into a good TV series, and trying out new restaurants.
