Kaitlyn Stickley, BA – Intake Coordinator
I grew up in a small town in Virginia, where I spent my childhood years before attending Liberty University. I’ve alwaysbeen an avid reader and decided to major in English, but throughout my college years I realized how much I enjoyed holding space to hear people’s stories and build deep relationships. I completed my BA in English, then moved to Charlotte to intern for a summer camp. I also spent a year working as an after school teacher at a nonprofit, and I loved getting to connect with kids day after day.
During this first year post-grad, I began to consider pursuing my master’s in counseling. In January 2020, I started the counseling program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. Just a couple months into my program, the pandemic hit and everything was moved to virtual. Fortunately, I’ve still been able to take my classes on Zoom and to get to know my professors and classmates in spite of the transition! Now, I am in my final year of the program and will be graduating in December 2022. I completed my practicum this past fall and will be completing my internships this year. So far, I have loved working with individuals, couples, and children at my site, and I’m so excited to continue learning more this year! I also love getting to be part of Connect Couples and to help people find a good fit as they pursue counseling.
When I’m not working or studying, I love to spend time reading, being outside, having a girl’s night with my friends, or checking out the latest coffee shop in Charlotte!
